Protei

Protei is a fleet of pollution-collecting sailing drones, focused primarily on the collection of oil spills. This open source project was designed by artist Cesar Harada and an international team of contributors through open sourcing networks.

Nuage Vert

HeHe (Helen Evans and Heiko Hansen) observed the gigantic smokestacks at the edge of Paris, endlessly puffing their clouds into the skies of Saint-Ouen and Ivry-sur-Seine, and worked to create a visual of the consumption and pollution through a laser-projected reminder.

Enormous Microscopic Evening

Enormous Microscopic Evening examines the museum from a microscopic perspective with CRITTER, a San Francisco-based salon dedicated to expanding the relationships between culture and the environment. Materials and samples taken from around the museum are taken to be examined.

Center for Postnatural History

The PostNatural refers to living organisms that have been altered through processes such as selective breeding or genetic engineering. The Center for PostNatural History is dedicated to the advancement of knowledge relating to the complex interplay between culture, nature and biotechnology.

Hyperbolic Crochet Coral Reef

The Hyperbolic Crochet Coral Reef opened at the natural history museum. The project uses crocheting techniques that employ hyperbolic geometry to create complex, natural-looking forms, drawing connections between the crocheted reefs and living corals. It is based on Australia's Great Barrier Reef.
