Frieze Foundation Artist Award

Frieze Foundation Artist Award

Contributed by Feed Tengu to Funding, Awards and Grants on 15 Mar 2014

A major new initiative by Frieze Projects, the Frieze Artist Award is open to artists, between 25-40 years of age. We invited artists to propose a new site-specific work for Frieze London 2014, as part of the critically acclaimed Frieze Projects programme. We were looking for new ideas that respond to the experience of Frieze London in a thought-provoking way. Applicants will be judged on the innovative nature of their proposal and its ability to be realised at Frieze London. The Frieze Artist Award sits within a distinguished history of artist awards presented at Frieze Art Fair, which include the Emdash Award (2011-2013) and Cartier Award (2006-2010). Entrance to the Frieze Artist Award was by open submission and the winner will be selected by an international jury of artists and curators: Hilary Lloyd; Fredi Fischli and Niels Olsen; Nicola Lees.
