The Leonardo Education and Art Forum (LEAF) has announced the election of Suzanne Anker as LEAF Chair-Elect, effective immediately, and JD Talasek as Chair Elect, effective February, 2014. Anker is a visual artist and theorist working at the intersection of art and the biological sciences. She works in a variety of mediums ranging from digital sculpture and installation to large-scale photography, to plants grown by LED lights. Talasek is the director of Cultural Programs of the National Academy of Sciences (CPNAS), Washington, D.C., which is focused on the exploration of the intersections between science, medicine, technology and visual culture. For the past three years, Talasek has organized and moderated D.C. Art Science Evening Rendezvous (DASER) events in Washington D.C. in collaboration with Leonardo/ISAST.
